Inputs and Method
The estimate uses the retail stamped-letter rates effective July 12, 2026: $0.82 for the first ounce, $0.29 for each additional ounce, and $0.49 when the nonmachinable surcharge applies. Weight rounds up to the next whole-ounce price step.
Do Not Use This Estimate When
The piece exceeds letter dimensions or 3.5 ounces, is a flat or parcel, travels internationally, contains restricted matter, or needs tracking, insurance, certification, or another service. Use the official retail price calculator or a staffed postal counter for those cases.
