Global Forever Stamps: Complete Guide
The Base Case
At the rate effective July 12, 2026, one Global Forever stamp has a postage value of $1.75. It covers a qualifying one-ounce First-Class Mail International letter or qualifying international postcard to a country served by USPS. The finished piece still has to satisfy the applicable size, shape, contents, and destination rules.
Do Not Use One Universal Over-One-Ounce Table
Postage above the base case is not one flat amount for every country. Price groups, destination, weight, dimensions, and mail category can change the result. A two-ounce letter to one destination should not be priced from an example for another destination. Enter the actual destination and completed mailpiece in the official international price calculator or consult the current International Mail Manual.
How to Use Global Forever Stamps
- Classify and weigh the completed piece.
- Confirm that the destination accepts the selected service and that the contents are mailable.
- Use the Global Forever value toward the required postage; add other valid postage only after calculating the exact total.
- Complete any customs documentation required for the contents and service.
A Global Forever stamp can contribute its current value to domestic postage, but using it on an ordinary domestic one-ounce letter would generally overpay.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use a Global Forever stamp for domestic mail?
Its current value can be applied, but it may exceed the postage required for an ordinary domestic letter. Excess postage is not refunded.
Do valid unused Global Forever stamps expire?
They do not have an expiration date; their category value follows the current one-ounce First-Class Mail International letter price.
How much postage does a two-ounce international letter need?
There is no single worldwide answer. Use the destination, weight, dimensions, and current international price table or calculator.
After checking the destination, weight, and applicable international price, review the current stamp listings without assuming one rate covers every mailing.
